Thank you. do have that kind of route where basically parents can just come in and ask for services and we will provide them with the service that the child criteria meets so that's kind of what we have let's say if there is a youth member that maybe got in a fight would that automatically go into prevention if they don't meet the other issues or would you still put them in like kind of refer them to drug diversion and anger management and all that because i don't feel that all fights come from those aspects uh true so basically like we say um when when we do get a referral from the police department say it was a fight at school um basically the parents will come in with their child and basically we'll ask questions regarding if there is any substance use and any concerns with the parents regarding substance use if there is uh basically we'll also do a assessment to see if they meet criteria um not every child meets criteria for substance use some people are experimenting social using so that doesn't meet the criteria of the substance use disorder so we do put them in prevention so the majority of our adolescents come in usually do prevention uh services what if it's directly referred from the police department does the parent have a say whether they go through prevention or the youth diversion uh they do um however we don't if the child has a history of substance use and you know uh we don't like to put individuals who have history of substance use with uh individuals who do …

Thank you. to see her brother. She went to go pick up her brother. The sister would not allow him to come out to go with her. My wife was banging on the door, knocking on the door, whatever you want to call it. Depends on which side you're on. Her sister called the police, said that she was in fear of her life, basically, that they needed to hurry and get over there. They don't understand that she had been a police dispatcher before. She knew all the buttons to push, what to say to them to get them riled up, and that's probably what she did with Peachman. I was surprised to learn he had over 15, maybe 20 years, I think he said, on the police force. The actions of that police officer I saw on that day seemed like a scared rookie. How was he able to be on the force and lose control like he did? He didn't even have the decency to give my wife a drink of water when she was asking for a drink of water. They say to her, nah, you can get your water when you get put in jail. The speaker's timer has expired. The next speaker's I have is Danny, followed by Pastor George Wardlow, followed by Dolores. Good evening. Over the years, I've given pejorative nickn ames to various members of the city. The latest one, however, the mayor's lawyer, is inaccurate. There's a better nickname. The wannabe sixth member of the council, or just wannabe. Let me give you two examples. The consent item authorizing that he could sign off on settlements. That item was pulled at the last minute. Thank you. Check one. Thank you. cognitive development and fine and gross motor skills. These pictures you see here are in our sensory room, so we also have a multi-sensory center. One of our newer programs is preschool readiness with the rise of the free school district TK. What we heard from our parents that have been in our parent and me program is that these kids need a little bit of a little bit of a chance to get away from their parents to get them ready for the school district's TK program. So we started our preschool readiness last year and it's really helped these kids get ready for school pre-k and kindergarten. We have cooking class for our teens and young adults. We have our social events where we do our dances and our proms and usually we do those over here at the community center or at the senior center. With our next one is August 15th with a country hoedown complete with line dancing. So if anybody would like to join us he'll have a great time. We also run the area's Special Olympics basketball. So every January through March we are part of the Special Olympics and we have our East County Stars basketball team. We have about 60 to 70 participants from ages 8 and up and then we train and then we go to the Special Olympics tournament held in Dublin. We also do a lot of community events with our next one being August 27th a Sunday out here in the city park. We do our exceptional fest and then like I said before we do we've done events at local farms with our sens …

Thank you. Great. Thank you. Good evening. Thank you. Zumba Gold is a modified version of Zumba to account for mobility. And the mobility and stability has quickly become one of our more popular classes. We started it last year and it's focused on promoting balance and reducing falls. We currently have 22 seniors enrolled in it and it started with about four. So we've been really happy with the growth in that class. Liberty Adult Education also contracts with us to offer Premier's exercise, which meets three times a week and has 80 members in it enrolled right now. And then they also offer watercolor and acrylic painting. And then we, in addition, we have contracted classes for yoga for seniors as well as ballroom dancing. A large part of our community, our senior center is our community partners. So we partner with Meals on Wheels. They use our site and our kitchen to do meal delivery as well as a congregant lunch program. The Contra Costa and Solano Food Bank does Brown Bag, which is a twice monthly supplemental groceries for low income seniors in the area. Contra Costa Legal Services utilizes our space once a month for legal assistance. And then HiCap comes in once a month as well for Medicare information and counseling. Meals on Wheels operates Cafe Costa. So it is for seniors 60 and above living in Contra Costa County. It is a $3 suggested donation for lunch each day. Nobody has ever turned away. And they do serve at our site Monday through Friday. They open the doors at …

Thank you. dozens of events throughout the year, but we are asking for support for two of them for this year. The first one is our annual Oktoberfest. This will be our 16th year doing it. It has become one of Brentwood's staple events. We bring in thousands of visitors from downtown while showcasing our local businesses, nonprofits, youth groups, entertainers, and volunteers. More importantly, it's proven as an economic driver in our downtown business. Businesses have reported sales increases ranging from 20 to 50%, with a few saying that they double in sales that day and even triple. I did want to share when I did do this survey with the downtown businesses, they're so thankful and grateful that we fight for this event, that we do this event, and that we keep providing it. Some of the feedback is that during this day, they can look forward to it and kind of relax post it because they make so much that day that they can then expand their business. They can relax a little bit for the month to come, just knowing that they have that little bit of cushion. So they're very grateful for it. That is the first event that we were asking for a grant for . Our second one is Santa in the Park. This would be our second annual Santa in the Park. We launched it last year. It was a two-day event from 4 to 8 p.m. We decorated the gazebo at City Park during the Christmas tree lighting, and it was magical. We had Santa there. We invited community members and anyone to come in and have a moment …

Thank you. One of your city Thank you. the ODS. The ODS contains six chapters. It has an introduction, and then it kind of goes from large scale to small scale, starting with site planning, working down to site design, the building design itself, the styles that the buildings might take on, and then the landscape, finally. So I'm going to walk through each chapter briefly. The introduction includes a purpose. It talks about how the document's organized. Site planning really looks at how you organize the site itself, where the buildings are maybe positioned on the site. It talks about edge conditions, open space, and how the site is subdivided. Site design talks more specifically about components of the site, not only where the building is located, but also parking areas, bicycle circulation, pedestrian access, and site lighting. Building design then talks about the building itself, the massing, building orientation, articulation, facade design, window alignment, entry typ ologies, and such. And then architectural style gets into kind of what most people kind of think of an architecture. It talks about kind of what it looks and feels like. And so we have several different styles that we analyze throughout the downtown. This is kind of our survey of styles within downtown and broader Brentwood. And then we worked with these styles to kind of position them th …

Thank you. All in favor. Thank you. recouping about what we feel is going to be $10 million a year in additional revenue, we've actually seen a reduction of over a thousand hours in rider-driven maintenance, graffiti, things of that sort. That has essentially gone away in some areas because of these fair gates. So we've seen not only an improvement in revenue, but also a decrease in our day-to-day costs. In addition to that, what we're really talking about is also police presence in the system.
