APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Town staff presented a deferral request for the Palm Beach Synagogue special exception
application. Public comment was received expressing concern about reviewing the application
during the summer months , when many affected residents are away, and requesting that the
hearing be scheduled during the season. Council Members discussed the timing of the hearing,
balancing resident participation with state-mandated application review deadlines. Questions
were raised regarding the 180-day statutory review period , the Town's ability to defer the
application beyond the applicant's requested one-month extension , and whether a future policy
should be considered for scheduling major applications during the season. The Council generally
supported moving the hearing to September to allow additional time for applicant preparation
and public participation while remaining within the required review timeline .
