Auditor Riley Hutton
End product of Audit is the Auditor’s opinion that they are materially correct.
There were Standard Journal entries of WRS, Asset Disposal, depreciation Expense, and one significant journal entry that was reversed.
Has seen improvement over the last 3 years.
Asked about Segregated Duties – Three findings they noted:
Preparations of final Audit, which has been on the last few years and will most likely be on every year going forward. Municipalities of our size don’t usually have the means to prepare the final audit.
Segregation of Duties -we have made progress, but with the limited staff we have, isn’t feasible to segregate duties to make this finding go away.
Significant adjustment – Municipal payments were deposited in 2025, and the checks need to be held till the fiscal year they are for.
Statement of Net position cash investments increased $25,000.
