Thank you. We'll come to the Pope. Right here, sir. Okay. Thank you. I think. Thank you. mowing the lawn, but the house has been abandoned for over three years. Is there anything the city can do? It's a dump. Okay, I don't expect an answer today, but you've got my number if you want to get back to me. Talk to Mr. Stokes right after this workshop, and we'll get it on the list. Okay. Is it back there behind your place? Yep. So the second question I have is why the baseball park across from my house is closed? Kids have learned to ride bicycles there. People have taught their kids to drive there. There used to be a group of young guys that came out on the weekends early, no problem for anybody, and they raced electric cars there. I say young guys. That's basically everybody in the world now except me. And so the point that gets to me is the police used to park there, and so speeding was minimized on Pasadena Boulevard. There are now people that drag race on Pasadena Boulevard because there is no place that I know of that the police park to do radar. And so they used to do on East Boulevard, but East Boule vard, the police have a couple places they park, and now Pasadena Boulevard is the drag race boulevard of choice. Well, the chief knows I might disagree with you because I think it's on St. Augustine. Well, okay, we'll compare statistics later. How's that? Well, the chief is sitting in the back, and you talk to him afterwards, and I'm sure he'll like to set up his little thing …

Thank you. Y'all follow me, come on over this way. Now, I got a big question. Who's responsible for all you guys? Not a trick question. Who's in charge? Them two? Okay. What's them names? Coach Alex? What's the other one? Coach Byron? Yeah, when they're trying to motivate you, tell me something they usually tell you. To get you fired up and get ready to play. Y'all got a saying? Nothing? What? Lock in? What does that mean? Be ready? That's it? Lock in. Be ready. I'm sure he says it a little bit more oomph than that, right? Yeah? No? They're not for sure what to think right now, are they? All right. Why don't you introduce everybody and tell us a little bit about your team? Yeah, absolutely. I'm Coach Alex. This is Coach Byron. And this is our 6U Deer Park All-Star Squad. We got him right at the start of summer. Starting from the left over here, this is Lincoln McPeak. Ryan Romella on the far end. We got Sabino Vasquez. We got Jace. Jace Borrega. We got Evan Cisneros. We got Zeke Rosales. We got Mateo Cruz. Jack Day. Jasper James. Trip Lay. Braden Boggess. And then Irie Pail. They had a pretty good summer. They had a great summer. So we started off, we were undefeated in the director's tournament and won the championship there. And we went to the regional tournament, went undefeated again, won the championship there and got to go to Youngsville, Louisiana and play in the World Series. And once in the World Series, got put in the silver bracket and then went undefeated in the s …

Thank you. First item of business, which is recognition of service of Eric Ripley on the Deer Park Community Development Committee. Hey, Eric. We have a celebrity in the house. Mr. Ripley was appointed to the Deer Park Community Development Committee in 2021 by the City Council Ordinance No. 4077. Mr. Ripley's term ended in May 2026 when he was elected to serve as a City Council member. It has been an honor to have him serve the citizens of Deer Park on this board, and we wish him the best in the future. An appreciation plaque is being presented to Mr. Ripley at this meeting. Okay, Eric, we want to get a picture? Okay, let's get up. He wore his best shorts. I like that shirt. That's a nice shirt. That is a nice shirt. We're going to go around up here. Do you want all of us in here? You want us all? Oh, no. All right. He put my hair up to go work now. Okay. He's got a short line, too. I don't know. I'm glad to see you dressed up. Thank you. I'm actually headed right to the deck. Okay. Thank you. Okay. Okay, we're going to move on to our second item, and that is the introduction of Ron Martin as our new member for the Deer Park Community Development Board of Directors. Where is Ron Martin? Ron Martin is ill today on his first day on the job. Sorry. Try that again. So, Ron's ill today. He is not joining us. So, at the May 19, 2026 City Council meeting, the City Council passed an ordinance for appointing Ron to position two to complete the unexpired term of our outgoing member of …

Thank you. I make a motion to adjourn. I second. All in favor. All right. That's all she wrote. So I will kind of kick things off here and kind of outline what we're going to do over the next 10 minutes or so. That's half of our allotted time. That's right. And kind of outline what the process is going to be. I want to begin by thanking everyone in this room for their hard work and diligence and particularly Tracy and Nicole and Sarah who work with me to have this budget to present to you all. And all these directors and assistant directors work very hard as well. We really try to manage our dollars and make really good decisions with what's presented to you. Maybe talking a little bit, perhaps for those who are new, Eric, about in all seriousness, about kind of the last 15 years or so. I'm going to go back a little bit. I've been here 16 years, but I'm going to go even a little bit further than that. I'm going to talk about what the financial landscape of your park, the city of your park, has looked like for a little bit and how that plays into where we are today and how we do things today. If you go back probably 18 years ago, there was kind of good and there was bad. The bad was the city did not have a lot of reserve funds. And no one loves talking about that more than Thane Harrison. Thane would always talk about that the city had less than 10% or less than 20%. And he insisted they create a policy, and we have a policy at this day, that calls for 25% reserves. And we'll …

Thank you. And we're just so thankful for that, God, for health, for the city that we live in and love. God, we're just so thankful for everything you give to us. I pray for tonight's meeting, that you're with us, you guide us and direct us. God, I pray for the employees of the city, especially our first responders. Be with them. Keep them safe and be with them. Lord, we just, we are thankful for a free country that we have, for those who fight to protect it. And just thankful for the leaders of our country. God, we just pray that you are with them and guide and direct them. And we're just, above all things, thankful for your son, Jesus, who died on the cross for our sins. It's in your name we pray. Amen. We're going to join the flag of the United States of America. I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. And the Texas flag. Honor the Texas flag. I pledge allegiance to the city, Texas, one state, under God, one and indivisible. Anyone sign up to speak? No, sir. I'm going to make my way down to a proclamation. Proclamation. Does that keep us really safe? Yes. Okay. So who's going to tell us what the safety committee actually is? Oh, you got thrown under the bus. Tell us about it. Thank you. CHAIRMAN BRYANT: Let me call to order the June 16, 2026 City Council workshop. And did anyone sign up to speak? MS. No, sir. CHAIRMAN BRYANT: Moving on to workshop items, agenda one, recognition of various city employees and their accomplishments. Is that why we have such a full house, Mr. Stokes? MR. Yes, sir. MR. Ryan Taylor is an awesome man and a good friend, but that's not why we're here today. We get to recognize employees. Of course, we recognize quarterly award-winning employees and departments. And this is not the same thing as that. There's special things that happen through the course of the year. This isn't on any set schedule, but as they build up after four months, five months, six months, whatever the occasion is, we want to recognize different people for their accomplishments. The first one that we're going to recognize is our Assistant City Manager, Sarah Koslow. Sarah, y'all can applaud. That's fine. CHAIRMAN BRYANT: Sarah's been very active in the Texas City Management Association for the past few years. And they started a new program last year that was called the Texas City Management Association's Texas City Management Institute. And there were only 15 or so, 20, that applied for that. And I'm going to let her tell you a little bit about that. But that was a big deal to go through the inaugural class of that. It's something that they're planning to continue at our conference, TCMA conference. Two weeks ago, they were talking about encouraging e …

Thank you. It's 5 o'clock. I hereby open the meeting for the CCPD. This is an open public hearing. Would the City Secretary read the public hearing notice, please? Notice is hereby given that the Board of Directors of the Deer Park Crime, Control and Prevention District will hold a public hearing at City Hall 710 East St. August ine Street, Deer Park, Harris County, Texas, on June 15, 2026 at 5 p.m., at which time and place they will hear all persons desiring to be heard on or in connection with any matter or questions regarding the proposed fiscal year 26-27 budget. Is there anyone here to speak on the budget? There have been a few changes that staff can present to the district, just as you all saw it last time. Those were included in your packet this evening, and they 're also highlighted on the Board. If you have any specific questions about them, our Finance Director, Nicole Ganey, is here this evening to discuss them in more detail. But it was very simple and straightforward. No expenditures or anything like assets or personnel or anything like that have been removed. It's all sort of internal budget workings as we balance the general fund and the districts and the funding and all of that. Are there any more comments? No, sir. No one signed up. The CCPD meeting is adjourned.
